Only 10 miles from New York City and minutes from Newark, Clifton is located in Passaic County, NJ and includes the ZIP codes 07011, 07012, 07013, 07014, and 07015.  As of the 2000 census, there were 78,672 people living in the 11.4 square miles of Clifton, NJ.  The New Jersey Transit system makes it super-easy to get around Clifton and into New York City.  Commuters can take the train from the Delawanna or Clifton Blvd. station, or take advantage of the Park & Ride at Allwood for a direct bus ride into the city. 

The Clifton Public School System, serving over 11,000 children, is made up of 14 elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.  Clifton High School's Marching Band, "The Showband of the Northeast", is well-known internationally. The city of Clifton offers several options for sports and recreation, including many parks that the whole family can enjoy!   Clifton is home to the Hamilton House Museum, an 18th Century Dutch gambrel-roofed homestead.  Another popular attraction in Clifton is Lambert Castle – a site on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic Morris Canal, constructed in 1825, was drained in 1924 and dedicated as a nature preserve in 1987.  It is a great place to picnic under the canopy of shade trees near the spring fed pond.  Bring along your binoculars and enjoy the birds and other wildlife in their natural surroundings. Sports fans and theater lovers alike feel right at home in Clifton.  Only minutes from Giant Stadium and the IZOD Center, Madison Square Garden, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, there are plenty of opportunities to attend sporting and artistic events.  Golf courses in or near Clifton include the Upper Montclair Country Club, the Passaic County Golf Course (one of the first 100 golf courses built in the United States!) and the Glen Ridge Country Club.
